About
Caitlin Kalinowski is one of the world's leading voices in hardware engineering and robotics. She advises a small number of early-stage teams building at the intersection of hardware, robotics, and AI, typically on product architecture, prototyping, manufacturing readiness, and building world-class engineering teams. She has served on the Board of Directors of Axon since 2019.
Caitlin most recently led robotics hardware at OpenAI, where she built the robotics hardware and operations functions from scratch. Before that she spent more than a decade at Meta's Reality Labs, where she headed AR glasses hardware, including the team behind Orion, and previously led VR hardware for Quest 2, Quest, Go, Rift S, and the original Oculus Rift and Touch controllers.
Earlier in her career, Caitlin was a technical lead at Apple on the Mac Pro and MacBook Air and part of the original unibody MacBook Pro team. She holds hardware patents from both Apple and Meta and has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford.
